Lapbook Lessons
This page is full of Free Resources you can use for
making your
June Beetle Lapbook.  I've also included
custom Minibooks that we made for our June Beetle
Lapbook. For our June Beetle Lapbook we wanted to
learn a few different things about butterflies.  You can
come up with your own objectives for the study, but
here are a couple of ideas....
  • Where do June Beetles live?
  • What do they eat?
  • What color can they be?
  • What are other names for June
    Beetles?
There aren't many books for
children that are specific to the
June Beetle, so we focused on
beetles in general. We really
liked...

"I like Beetles"

I couldn't find it on Amazon, but
check your library!

You can learn more about each
book, and see a "Used" price by

June Bug Craft
For our June Bug craft we made something similar to DLTK's Lady Bug
Craft.....Except of course we didn't use red,and instead of paper, we used
paper plates. First I had thechildren color the backside of a plate with various
colors of green. Then I let them use sparkle glitter glue to paint on a
"Sheen". We made the bodies by tracing a paperplate onto black
construction paper and then adding a bulge for a head. We secured
the wings to the bodies with a small brad so the bug is able to
open and close it's wings. DLTK has lots of other
LadyBug Crafts you could
alter to use for a June Bug craft as well, so be sure and check them out!
