This is a growing page for detailed instructions and printables needed to make our AlphaBugs Lapbooks. For each letter of the alphabet we’e picked a creepy crawly critter to study and have designed notebooking and lapbooking elements you can use to make an Alphabugs notebook. What’s Included? For each insect you’ll find a variety of resoures however most include Anatomy, Life Cycle, Coloring, Handwriting, Bible Verse, Habitat, Diet, Fun Facts, and Thematic Notebooking pages. Assembly: I recommend using Notebooking and Lapbooking methods combined. Use a three ring binder and cardstock with tabs to separate each letter. Allow children do decorate the cardstock cover for each insect. (We suggest many art projects throughout that can be used for this purpose). Then include all of the worksheets, anatomy labeling ect….Lapbooking elements can be cut out and glued to blank pages then added into the three ring notebook. When finished you’ll have an amazing insect alphabet you can explore again and again with your children. Recommended Reference Resources:
Ant Lapbook A is for Ant Lapbook! Ant are a great topic to start out your Alphabugs lapbook series; They’re hardworking, persistent and can carry many times their weight. It’s no wonder God asks us to consider the ant’s wisdom. The study of ants is a wonderful wayfor children to see God’s hand in all of his creation, even with the teeny tiny ants.
Butterfly Lapbook B is for Beautiful Butterflies Lapbook. Some of my most favorite insects are butterflies because of their vibrant colors and beautiful decorations that not only attract mates, but keep predators away as well. Children love to learn about butterflies, they are simply wondrous and delicate.
Rhinoceros Beetle Lapbook R is for Rhinoceros Beetle Lapbooks. Children can learn all about these amazing and HUGE bettles. This is another unique creature that has recently become a household pet and fascination among children and adults.
