Our Earthworm printables are part of a collective notebooking/lapbooking resources called Alphabugs. This is a great way to work your way through the ABC’s while learning all about amazing creepy crawlies along the way. Our Alphabugs lapbooks are similar in content with some variations, but most contain the following resources: Anatomy, Life Cycle, Habitat, Family, Communication, Bible Verse, Copywork, Crafts, Activity suggestions and more. Additionally, we’ve included a Quilt Square for each insect so you can create a classroom quilt along the way. The quilt squares are a great way to include your younger children as they include a coloring page, handwriting practice, and scissor skills. See how to make a classroom quilt here.
It’s such a cute little way to make worms, and if you have older children you can have them work on patterning, to represent the different segments of the worms body. We used sparkly beads because we had them on hand, but if you have to pick some up, try a peach or tan color to make them more like Earthworms. These special beads allow you to bend the worms into different shapes, or even wrap them around your fingers! The kids loved playing with these!
