Our Mosquito printables are part of a collective notebooking/lapbooking resources called Alphabugs. This is a great way to work your way through the ABC’s while learning all about amazing creepy crawlies along the way. Our Alphabugs lapbooks are similar in content with some variations, but most contain the following resources: Anatomy, Life Cycle, Habitat, Family, Communication, Bible Verse, Copywork, Crafts, Activity suggestions and more. Additionally, we’ve included a Quilt Square for each insect so you can create a classroom quilt along the way. The quilt squares are a great way to include your younger children as they include a coloring page, handwriting practice, and scissor skills. See how to make a classroom quilt here.
We made these adorable Mosquito Masks for a
Mosquito Craft. I cut out the face shapes from a paper plate, making holes for the eyes and
mouth. The children used water colors to paint them (taking guide from the colorful pictures in the above Mosquito books) and we taped a flexi-straw into the mouthpart. We used pipe cleaners for the antenaes and then of course I just couldn’t resist and we brought out some “Blood” (aka: Fruit Punch) for them to slurp up with their Mosquito Masks! This photos going into the scrapbook for sure!test
